New Prologue? Don't toss that clunky garage remote in the glovebox. The Prologue has HomeLink built right in, and pairing your garage door takes less than a minute once you know the steps.
The 30-second version
The Prologue's HomeLink buttons let the car become your garage remote. You hold your existing opener up to the car, pair the two, and then a button in the Prologue opens and closes your garage — no visor clip, no second remote to lose.
Step by step
| 1. Find the buttons | Locate the HomeLink buttons on the overhead console / headliner |
|---|---|
| 2. Clear it (first time) | Hold the two outer buttons until the indicator blinks, to clear old codes |
| 3. Pair the remote | Hold your garage remote 1–3 inches from the button, press both until the light flashes rapidly |
| 4. Train the opener | Press "learn" on the garage motor unit, then tap the Prologue button twice |
| 5. Test it | Press the HomeLink button — the door should move |
Some newer "rolling code" openers need the extra "learn button" step (step 4). Steps can vary slightly by opener brand — the video shows the exact sequence.
Why bother?
Because it's the little stuff that makes a new car feel like yours. Two minutes on delivery day and you never dig for a remote again. This is the kind of quick setup I like to walk buyers through so nothing gets left in the "I'll figure it out later" pile.
Bottom line
The Prologue makes this genuinely easy — follow along with the video above and you'll be opening your garage from the car in under a minute. Subscribe on YouTube for more quick how-tos on the tech in your car.
